• AL-Mutasim State Constructional Contracting Company is one of the Ministry of Housing and Construction State Companies.

• The Company was established in July 2003 after the merge of the two state companies. AL-Mutasim (specialized in buildings) established in 1987 and AL-Jihad (specialized in roads and bridges) established in 1998.

• Inspite of the severe loss the two former companies suffered after the events followed the April 9 th 2003 due to burning and looting of its Head Quarters, workshops, stores, concrete and asphalt plants, heavy vehicles, equipments and furnitures.
Still the Company managed to start the work in (11) projects physically out of it (14) projects proposed in the budget of the remaining of the year 2003. Also the complete finished one project for the new Iraqi army Head Quarters.

• The total loss of the two companies because of the former events was estimated to be (91) million USD and following photos showing the damages in the Building, Warehouses and Workshops.
